Even if the doctors are correct, do we really want to turn over the rights of the parents who gave the child life and are charged with her well-being to doctors who are simply charged with maintaining health?

The Washington Post, forever in short supply of Op-Ed reporters unleashes Jimmy Carter again to scold, lecture and otherwise berate the intellect of the rest of us.

Unfortunately, these steps are already underway and are well known throughout the Palestinian territories and the world. Israel moved yesterday to withhold funds (about $50 million per month) that the Palestinians earn from customs and tax revenue. Perhaps a greater aggravation by the Israelis is their decision to hinder movement of elected Hamas Palestinian Legislative Council members through any of more than a hundred Israeli checkpoints around and throughout the Palestinian territories. This will present significant obstacles to a government's functioning effectively. Abbas informed me after the election that the Palestinian Authority was $900 million in debt and that he would be unable to meet payrolls during February. Knowing that Hamas would inherit a bankrupt government, U.S. officials have announced that all funding for the new government will be withheld, including what is needed to pay salaries for schoolteachers, nurses, social workers, police and maintenance personnel. So far they have not agreed to bypass the Hamas-led government and let humanitarian funds be channeled to Palestinians through United Nations agencies responsible for refugees, health and other human services.

This is the gullible and dim-witted former POTUS (we can still hardly believe that) that recently referred to Palestine as thought there were such a place. What Jimmy Carter fails to mention is that these very people are dedicated to killing as many innocent Israelis as possible on their way toward erasing Israel altogether. Can we not even require Hamas to denounce their efforts? Can we not expect the Muslim world to do anything?
And while we're talking about the Muslim world, Carter seems willing to scold the US and Israel for withholding funds, does he have any expectation of funding from Middle Eastern countries? If this money is so vital and necessary for salaries, schools and medical treatment, what did they do for cash when Jimmy's buddy Yasser Arafat was making himself a billionaire? This dunce needs to sit down and shut the fuck up. The Washington Post can help by giving this space to someone else.

Here is another gem.
This common commitment to eviscerate the government of elected Hamas officials by punishing private citizens may accomplish this narrow purpose, but the likely results will be to alienate the already oppressed and innocent Palestinians, to incite violence, and to increase the domestic influence and international esteem of Hamas. It will certainly not be an inducement to Hamas or other militants to moderate their policies.

And just what was the fucking incentive for them to stop when they were given a world stage, invites to the Whitehouse and billions in cash, investment and loans? This statement sounds remarkably like the Mafia. Give them cash or they will become violent, except in the case of Hamas, they will become violent whether you give them cash or not.

"Prophet Mohammed?" That even sounds a bit familiar, not even the Prophet Mohammed or Mohammed who is thought to be a prophet by Muslims.

How does Webster define the word prophet?
1. One who utters divinely inspired revelations

That’s quite a leap for a news organization. How do we know Mohammed was a prophet? CNN certainly isn’t offering any evidence.
I guess expecting CNN to refer to Jesus Christ as the son of God would be a bit much to ask. Jesus is revered as a prophet by Muslims and some Jews for that matter so you might think that CNN would refer to Jesus as a prophet also.

Unwilling to print cartoons of Mohammed for fear of offending whatever it is the Arabs are pissed off at this week, the MSM is rushing to print even more images of inmates at Abu Ghraib.

Never willing to check facts, the press offers up these images of blood-stained prisoners. These are images and they suggest a story but not necessarily the truth. You are suppose to think that the blood is the result of a beating - the press would never suggest otherwise although they did rattle the military's cage over guards using fake blood and calling it menstrual blood.

This time the blood is real and the result of real abuse.
This is not to suggest there aren’t abuses, but it does suggest that the press has motives beyond the printing of a story when it is quite evident that there is much more to the story.

In a time when America is staring down the fundamentalist Islamic world, Al Gore steps in to let them know these is still a soft underbelly in America. The former Vice-President told a mainly Saudi audience on Sunday that the U.S. government committed "terrible abuses" against Arabs after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, and that most Americans did not support such treatment.

Gore said Arabs had been "indiscriminately rounded up" and held in "unforgivable" conditions. The former vice president said the Bush administration was playing into al-Qaida's hands by routinely blocking Saudi visa applications.

The fact that Gore would make these assertions (which never seem to be followed up with example) is bad enough. Making them before an audience desperate to believe them is another matter altogether. Gore needs on one hand to satisfy the fringe left while making sure that the majority of Americans don’t hear his treachery. If this were only Al Gore, maybe it would pass as the simple-minded ranting of an angry ignorant man. It isn’t only Al Gore; it’s John Murtha, Nancy Pelosi, Ted Kennedy, and John Kerry who will look for any opportunity to gain political points, even at the expense of our war effort.

"Unfortunately there have been terrible abuses and it's wrong," Gore said. "I do want you to know that it does not represent the desires or wishes or feelings of the majority of the citizens of my country."

Worse abuses come in the form of irresponsible drivel that further serves to inflame those who really don’t need a reason to be inflamed to begin with. What Islamic fanatics need are the useful idiots on the left so they can claim that they are not alone in their views of the west. In a sick and twisted way this also serves to elevate the value of the life of an Islamic over those who are not. Gore chooses innuendo and wild accusations about the treatment of Arabs over any sort of call for those who fund and support the killing of innocents.
It wasn’t so long ago that this kind of behavior would be rewarded with handcuffs and prison sentences.

The picture on the left is not Mohammed, or it might be. Maybe it’s his second cousin Ahmed the bomb-maker. Or to be insulting in a south-side-of-Chicago sense, maybe its Mohammed’s sister.

What if it is suppose to depict Mohammed?

The idea that this somehow devalues what Mohammed stands for seems to be a belief that is deeply imbedded in the roomy cranial cavity of all Islamic fanatics. At the heart of any fanaticism is the deep and real fear that their beliefs might be false. A rejection of their belief is after all, a rejection of their internal self. Maybe that is why freedom is such a threat to them. Oh, this isn’t the type of freedom that gives a person the ability to be a raging asshole in public, or the type that lets them call George Bush a Hitler before they thank the academy. The freedom that bothers fanatics most is the freedom to choose. Some might choose wrongly after all, some might even reject an ideology altogether.
Islamofanatics cannot allow rejection for they have gone too far down a road of oppression, a road that may have even started with good intensions. It isn’t hard to imagine the devout desperately wanting another person to share in their beliefs, especially when those beliefs are so deeply meaningful to them. First, they may want to convert them by introduction or exposure. After a while, maybe they become bothersome or worse, maybe they begin to use political tools to enforce their beliefs on a larger public. At that point, conversion becomes the most important objective, even beyond any meaning of the religion itself. That’s why Islamofanatics can preach virtue to the rest of us while selling heroin and bombing innocents. As their narratives and needs progress and become complicated, their methods become more repressive and violent.

Does any thinking individual believe that a cartoon of Mohammed is more insulting to Islam than Mohammed Atta?

Aside from whether the depiction of Mohammed is sacrilege or not, in bad taste or A-OK, the very fact that some are calling for boycotts and beheadings because of these cartoons should cause some alarm; especially when these calls are directed at other nations which have every right to enact their own laws and live within the culture that they have been free to develop.
Even in the United States where we are free to act as goofy and disrespectful as we want, the usually goofy and disrespectful media has remained silent on the matter. Unafraid when the insults are directed at Christians and Jews, the American Media is suddenly confronted by people who are prepared to do a lot more that send a strongly worded email. This is precisely the type of cowardice that allows fanatics to gain traction in a society. Unfortunately, the American media has done much of the work for Islamofanatics, on one hand rejecting the war as “American Imperialism” and on the other bending over to Islamic threats and intimidation. Additionally, this behavior creates an air of weakness and there is nothing more keenly identified by Islamofanatics than weakness. Who needs alJazeera?
Ironically, freedom is about the only thing that will save Islam. Freedom carries with it, the one component that Islamofanatics cannot understand. That component is the ability to choose and thereby make the virtue that all religions seek, meaningful. Virtue isn’t real when it comes from the barrel of a gun or through intimidation. That is the saddest commentary of all and maybe it will become Islam’s epitaph. By oppressing humans, you move them to resent the very ideals that you want them to believe in. By oppression, you abandon your own virtue and are no example to anyone else. In silence, you do not support those values and you enable oppressors. It is no wonder then that the west’s response is to fortify itself against you, to go to war against you and ultimately to reject you. Whatever mantel of religion that Islam has left is fading rapidly. It is not the west that needs to better understand Islam; it is Islam that needs to better understand humanity.
And while we are on the subject of cartoons, maybe adherents to Islam should ask just who it is that is putting this face on Mohammed?

Survivors of hurricane Katrina demanded money and called for more action, faster and better this and that. Not to miss an opportunity to milk this farce for some political gain, dimocratic whores representatives chimed in.
"Really, just to be plain about it, this is a scandal," Rep. Nancy Pelosi (Dim Bulb-Calif.) said to a standing ovation.
"The crowd, many of them working-class New Orleanians whose families have lived there for generations, thundered when Rep. Barney Frank (Dim Bulb-Mass.) called the lack of progress in rebuilding less-affluent neighborhoods "a policy of ethnic cleansing by inaction."
It's a good thing that the rest of us hurricane Katrina survivors in the other 48 states are here to bail them out. But then, living somewhere other than a major floodplain has it's benefits.

A whole lot of ratchet-jawing is going on about some cartoons depicting Mohammed with a bomb on his head. Colorado Rocket Guild Writers and the Editorial Staff condemn this drawing for its shoddy and inaccurate portrayal.
Everybody knows these bombs are attached to vests.
We are at a bit of a loss about why Muslims are so wound up about this to begin with what with all those killings in the name of Allah.
We might guess that greater offences include: beheadings, beatings and bombings as well as all that stuff about destroying Israel. And let’s face it, you are only pissed at Israel because they have taken the same real estate that you have and turned it into a respectful country with drinkable water.
This isn't to say that your rants and threats haven’t been useful. In fact, they have helped to illustrate to even the dimmest bulbs among us what life would be like under your boot. We can imagine a place where it isn't enough for you to force a radical ideology on another person, you have to try and invade the private recesses of their minds. We can see a place where women wear coverings on their faces not because of some devout adherence to an ideal, but because of the shiner you gave them last night when they didn't get your fucking Rice Chex.

Dims Say They Are Missing Opportunities

Democrats are heading into this year's elections in a position weaker than they had hoped for, party leaders say, stirring concern that they are letting pass an opportunity to exploit what they see as widespread Republican vulnerabilities.
So far, since Bush was elected, they have never missed an opportunity to exploit some weakness, failing or mistake of Bush or the Republicans at large. They haven’t missed an opportunity to make them up either.
What the Dims are missing is ideas.
Say what you want about Republicans, but they generally have ideas and in some fashion (usually lame) they promote them. The Dims are becoming the party of the stereotyped mother-in-law. Her constant complaints may have some merit at times, but mostly you wish she’d just shut the fuck up.
People need a break from the current crop of shills yammering on about this problem or that. They want to see some, one or any Dim propose a solution to anything.
In his speech, to the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Senator Bayh said: "As Democrats, we have a patriotic duty and political imperative to lay out our ideas for protecting America. Frankly, our fellow citizens have doubts about us. We have work to do."
A good way to start might involve taking some positions that more closely mirror those of the American public rather than those of terrorist organizations. When your party refers to a fascist, murdering thug like Saddam Hussein as a leader that was “minding his own business” and the President of the United States as Hitler. Yeah, I’d say you have some work to do.
You can bitch about wiretaps all you like. You can say that Bush is trampling on the rights of Americans. If the public comes to understand that the “Americans” you speak of are really terrorists or their sympathizers, you will have defined for all time where you stand on protecting American citizens.
